Low-cost medications:
- GoodRx.com is a 100% free service – you do not need to create an account or pay anything. You still need a prescription from a doctor, but you use GoodRx.com to shop around & get coupons. Can save a lot of money on most generic and common medications! Remember that each coupon has to be for the exact medication (dosage and all) & quantity and it is only good for that specific pharmacy.
- Costco + GoodRx.com is usually the lowest price. You do NOT need a Costco membership to use the Costco pharmacy! Just tell them at the front you are going to pharmacy only.
- Costco also has the lowest cost over-the-counter medications by far —
- Pain & fever meds? Ibuprofen, naproxen, acetaminophen (aka Tylenol).
- Allergies? Fluticasone nasal spray & cetirizine (aka zyrtec).
- Heart-burn? Omeprazole, famotidine (aka pepcid).
- Bone protection? Calcium + Vit D3 combination supplements.
- Multivitamins
Vaccines:
- For kids (ie under 18 years old), the county you live in often will have free vaccine clinics (VFC programs). Call your local county department of health.
- For adults, use Goodrx.com to find pricing & coupons for vaccines. You may or may not need a prescription from a doctor.
Lab tests:
- Many of the hospital systems (such as Providence) may offer discounted labs if you are uninsured.
- Our clinic can get discounted labs through Quest – just let us know.
